In 782 King Argishti laid the foundation of the city of Yerevan and there is a written evidence of this by the king, thanks to which we keep an accurate calendar of the city of Yerevan.
In 1968, the day of the city was celebrated for the first time. It was celebrated until 1988, but with the down of hard times for the capital and the entire country as a whole, the celebration was temporarily suspended.
The tradition of celebrating the day of the city was resumed in 1998, and already in 2005 the government of the Republic of Armenia decided to celebrate the day of the city annually on the second Saturday of October.
Every year on this day, a celebratory atmosphere prevails in the city, everything glows and is filled with national colors.
On this day, thousands of people can enjoy the Salute, which is getting more and more beautiful year by year.
