Armenia Independence Day is celebrated on September 21. In 1991, on this day, the people of Armenia voted in a referendum for independence from the Soviet Union, a member of which Armenia had been since 1921. This is one of the most important holidays celebrated on a large scale. Independence Day is also celebrated by the Armenian diaspora in different countries. The festive day ends with a festive concert and fireworks.
