The feast of the Resurrection Sunday is also called Easter, which means liberation, deliverance from sins and return to God. Holy Easter in Armenia is called Surb Zatik. Easter in Armenia is the most significant holiday. On this day, everyone says to each other: "Christ is risen from the dead" - "Blessed is the Resurrection of Christ."
The Armenian Apostolic Church uses the Gregorian calendar, therefore it is a moving holiday and does not have a specific date and is celebrated every year on different days. The holiday is celebrated on Sunday from March 21 to April 26.
It must also be remembered that it was Armenia that officially adopted Christianity as the state religion in 301.
